What's more fitting than to blog about my last trip to Stockholm whilst on the train there for my next trip?
I finally got around to go and see the Blue Potion Café that my friends work at!
It's a lovely little café, located inside one of Webhallen's stores in Stockholm. My friends work there in cosplay, and the interior of the café is overflowing with all things nerdy and video games. ♥

Cutiepies in action! I got to pick out Joss (left) costume for the day, and I picked Junko from Dangan Rompa in her megane persona because loooook at thaaaat. Darling Elvina wore her Anastasia costume. ♥
Look at that staff. The charm, the grace.
Cute mugs, painted by another employee! ♥
I had a twinkie for the first time in my life, and was so disappointed. It was nothing special at all if you ask me..
The bathroom is Super Mario decorated! It was so cool! I didn't get any good photos inside though since it was way dark, but hopefully I'll get more opportunities.
Zelda coffee and watermelon ramune(Japanese soda).
I went there twice during my stay, and on the second day we had a small celebration for Joss, since it was her birthday! Happy birthday you big bad nerd. ♥
I really liked Blue Potion Café.
Coffee, staff, atmosphere and interior was 12/10!
I could kill for a job quite like it, it's such a dream! Too bad I know and like the current staff too much..
Until next time! ♥

J-popcon got me good

Just a week ago, me and Mako sat down on a bus to Kopenhagen and J-popcon!
It was my first time at a Danish convention - and I was not disappointed! Wow!
One of the main reasons for me to want to go is because my friend Mie is heading to Japan for half a year soon, and I wanted a chance to hang out and watch her and amazing Kami perform with their beautiful Rose Of Versailles costumes.
Spoler alert: they won!! They qualified to represent Scandinavia at China International Cartoon and Animation Festival. How cool is that?! ♥
First day at the con got rather brief for me and Mako.
We were dead tired, but we non the less crammed ourselves into our Renai Idenshi XX costumes - that we finished to wear for Jpopcon!
I still have a couple of things that I want to take apart and make better for the next time I wear Sakura, but I'm still happy it came together.
Actually, just as we had gotten everything on and entered the convention, a girl recognized us as Sakura and Aoi! Renai Idenshi being a super shady manga very few have heard of - even less so have read - we were super happy and surprised! ♥
Second day was Big Hero 6 day! I whisked Mako down to our hostel's super nice breakfast before 8 o'clock, and then off we went!
Honey Lemon and Gogo Tomago were the new costumes that me and Mako put together and wore for J-popcon. At the con we met up with my friend Mir from Norway, he'd made Hiro Hamada's battlesuit, he looked so cute and cool. Our little group got so much appreciation and love, it was crazy! ♥
Me standing up on my super high stiletto heels vs me bending down to selfie with my crew. If nothing else, my height was pretty damn on point for Honey.
One of the guests at the con was J.Hart Design! I have so much respect for him and his craft. We went to see his lectures on fabrics and pattern alterations, so inspirational and educational. When I afterwards asked him about the rhinestones he had on his Sakizou Opal costume (above to the right), not only did he tell me what kind, but he also told me why he had choosen them instead of swarovski crystal and what difference there was. Such a kind and generous spirit! ♥
Me with super amazing Mie in her flawless Oscar to the left, waiting for the results of the competition, and me in Sheryl Nome's (aka Ilona cosplay and ultimate cosplay mom of Desucon Finland) lap to the right!
Third day was Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun day, and also departure-day! I was so cold during this day. Which might be one of the reasons as to why I'm dead down with the flu as I'm writing.

Once the con was over, we went and had an amazing dinner with most of our new friends before sitting down on our bus, filled with inspiration and happy memories from a great weekend in Denmark. ♥
10/10 will go again!
Now I'm going to go and return to my fever induced hibernation, and hope that I'll wake up feeling better than I do right now.
Until next time! ♥c
Happy Birthday Haruka ♥

Today is the fictional character Haruka Tenoh's birthday.
She is one of the Outer Sailor Soldiers in the 90's manga and anime Sailor Moon.
Not only is haruka described as exceedingly good at everything she does - but she also openly questions the importance of gender(in a 90's manga from Japan. Let me just put that out there.), gets mistaken for a gorgeous young man by the other main girls(who still harbor crushes on her even after learning about her gender) without being offended by it, competes in motor sports with and against men and lives together with another Sailor Senshi named Michiru. The two of them are so close and couple-like in the anime that in the American dub, they felt it necessarily to make them appear as cousins. (No homo? yes homo.)
Imagine the awkward and weird situations that choice made, since they're very romantic towards one another.
At one time, when Michiru jokes about Haruka gaining weight she returns it with "I don't want to hear that talk outside of bed.", and another time she tells her that she wants her to "touch her gently.". Michiru also jokingly(?) threatens Haruka's life if she ever looks at another woman again at one time.
But hey, if thinking that they're cousins make you feel better - by all means, the joke is on you.
The point is that I really love her, she has inspired me and helped my self confidence to grow more than once.
I've cosplayed her several times already, here's some of my best shots from each and every time I've tried to impersonate her.

My first go at her was in 2011, when I stayed in Japan for exchange studies - and it was an utter disaster. My sewing machine broke down in the middle of the night before the event - not that 16 year old me had any idea what I was doing any way, but let's just say it made it worse - and the wig was a spare one my friend Asuka chopped away at for maybe 20 minutes.

By 2012 I was back in Sweden, and I'd gotten my dear friend Nana to join the Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune love-train. She's my gorgeous Michiru ever since.

I remember being SO nervous about this shoot. I didn't know Jözz at that time, and I thought her perfect and myself, well, not so much. But I really love the outcome of our twinning.

..2014! Last time I wore anthing Haruka was just about a year ago. And may I say that my wig, makeup and posing skills had improved drastically for that.
Now, at last, my Michiru has returned from a year in Japan, and I can't wait to make all our plans for my favorite cartoon lesbians come true.
Bottom line: Happy birthday, and thank you, Naoko Takeuchi, for creating such an iconic lady. ♥
Until next time! ♥

So, after customizing my completely straight hairline lacefront wig into a widow's peak by weaving two-three strands of hair into the lace at a time, I could finally try it on to see how it'll look in the end!
I used this tutorial's needle method to do it.
I used this tutorial's needle method to do it.
Now I just have to finish cutting it, clean up stray hairs, get better lenses and tease the braid up a little thicker and I'm good in the wig department! Also my shipment of fabric is in town - so I can get started for reals now.
This costume means the world to me, so I really hope it goes my way!
Wish me luck. ♥

I looked trough my old photos in search for a full body shot of one of my cosplays from Närcon, but I came across these instead! I really love the half candid/spontaneous shots in which we just pose super quick and naturally, they always look like so much fun!
Almost our full μ's (muse) Love Live group! I love our Yume no Tobira costumes, the designs are so cute! ♥
Lovely Elvina as Eri, Joss as Kotori and myself as Maki! ♥
Until next time! ♥
Today was such awful weather, it really made me miss the unusually hot summer we had in Sweden this year.
I love Autumn, but as I spend a large part of my days looking after 17+ kids outside, cold weather gets a little tiring at times.
Photo and edit by my friend Davy, thank you!
Can't wait to hug all my girls again, I'm going to Stockholm for four days tomorrow for dance practice and loving, I can't wait! ♥

Long time no cosplay! (or really..?)
The things I need to make my Elsa cosplay are slowly being delivered to me, and I've already started out on what I think will be the most time-consuming part of this costume: Elsa's beautiful mosaic ice top part of her dress. Wow that's a long title.

The ice that Elsa creates has this beautiful, magical holographic sheen to it, and after looking trough the endless tutorials and work in progress blogposts that all the gorgeous Elsa cosplayers before me have blessed the interwebz with, I found some really pretty sequin sheets and scrapbooking shimmer sheetz that reflect that just perfectly.
Viewed straight on they are just pale blue and dark turquoise (I have another lighter turquoise shade in between them, I just haven't cut any yet hehe ..), but as soon as you move them they shimmer in pink, light purple, green and gold.
I cut them all by hand, with a regular scissor, since I want them in different shapes and sizes. It actually works very well, but I try to work a little every day so I won't wear my hands out too much (it's happened before, and not being able to craft without being in pain was agony enough by itself..!)
I can't wait for the rest of my materials to get here so that I can start making everything!
Until next time! ♥

!!!PICTURE HEAVY. RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!
It's been roughly two weeks since my yearly trip to Närcon, a Swedish convention that's held every summer in Linköping.
It's one of my favorite events (only surpassed by Desucon and Confusion), and it has a very cozy, festival kind of feeling since it's very open and many of the activities as well as both stages are outsite!
Närcon 2013 was also the very first convention me and my AKBabes performed at, so this year was a sort of 1st year anniversary for us! We've gotten so far, and in only one year we've been to Finland twice, Norway once, been invited to Denmark and also performed at three events in Sweden. I'm very proud of our hard work and all the friends we've managed to make in such a short time.

This one event was also a little special since we were all group members together for the first time, including our two newest babes and our three members who live in Japan! Here is a photo of us together with a cosplayer from Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, doing Jojo-esque poses because we're actually more derp than we'll ever be pretty.
I really love this costume! I think it's adorable how half of us wear pink with black shoes and white socks and the other half blue with white shoes and black socks, I love our bows that we tie with neckties and the overall mix of sporty and cute.
I also think that this dress is one of the most flattering and well made pieces I've sewn in my 6 years of cosplay!

But I brought another three costumes to Närcon. Yes. Three. A little too stressful for my taste, but you learn as long as you live I suppose, next time I will not be bringing as many costumes - and I'm thinking quite seriously about only making bikini costumes for next year because I cannot function in heat - even less so in cosplay when it's hot. NOPE.
Solo shot by Danarki, thank you! ♥
First day, I wore my improved Kiryuin Satsuki costume! There are still some twerks and improvements I want to make on her, like finishing up my boots, making a new sword and doing my makeup better, but none the less it felt soooo much better than last time I wore her. Apart from the unbearable heat that was..!
I had the most precious group, with Joss as my Ryuko (as it should be), and Nette as the most adorable two-star seifuku Mankanshoku Mako. This girl is THE most perfect Mako, I cannot wait to show you our group photos as soon as I get my hands on them!

Second day, I wore my Sailor Star Maker. WOW. I never want to work in PVC again, even less wear it, let me tell you that much. And it was SO HOT. Kids. Do NOT wear PVC in 31°C, I repeat, do NOT. It may look really breezy but I was boiling, and my feet still haven't quite recovered from the combination of the vacuum in my boots and high heels. Oh boy. We had Mako as the most gorgeous Princess Kakyuu with us, but I have yet to recieve any full group shots that I'm entirely happy with myself on hehe. You can see her costume over at her page!
Photo by Artano photography, thank you! ♥
After changing out of my Sailor Star Maker costume, it was time for the gameshow, yayyy! We teamed up with one member each of the famous Youtube couple behind Eat Your Kimchi and fought for our right not to be punished(..?) in this batsu(punishment)-game! You can see the whole thing here -> (♥)
It's one of the most fun activities I've ever done at a convention, so well planned and exciting! And above anything: my team won. HA!
Group photo by Joacim Schwartz, solo shot by Danarki, thank you! ♥
Third day was the most relaxed day! We had no performances, and we "only" wore our Love Live! School idol project costumes - which also was the only weather appropriate costume I'd brought along. I love my Love Live group, all the girls fit their character perfectly and look so, so cute.

I also finally got the opportunity to meet Kami Renee and Mie Rose! I've been swooning over them both for sooo long, they're so sweet, incredibly talanted and creative. The quality of their costumes, that attention to details I tell you!
This year's Närcon really was a blast! I only wish I could've spent some more time with new and old friends, but oh well, that's just how it is sometimes. I had fun, and made lovely memories none the less. I want to send out some extra love to the adorable Suzuko cosplayer who made us kirara plushies, and to Ell, who made us cute bracelets and to everyone who took our photo/took photo with us and came to see us perform! I can't wait for the next event so that I can see people again. ♥

Here I go again with the cellphone selfies, my oh my I'm lazy..!
Anywho, today I picked up my wig for my Nishikino Maki cosplay that I ordered from MoeMall on eBay!
I tried it on real quick, and while the fibers, the color and the graduation of the colors is really beautiful, I'm kind of disappointed in the rest of it.
The wig is very teased in the "roots", which makes it look like I have a very big head, and the hair in the "curls"/the longer parts of the wig is very thin. So it's too thick around the head and too thin in the lengths, unfortunately. But I will try and make it work either way since the fibers are so easy to work with and the color is sooo pretty! ♥

Me and my friends are planning to cosplay the full Love Live! group μ's (Muse) for Närcon, since three of my friends who live in Japan are coming home to join us for the event (!!) and going to make the "Yume no Tobira" (which means "The gate of dreams") version, which I'm very excited about since it's one of my favorite costume of theirs! The song is super cute too!
Isn't it just adorable? Can you spot my character? ♥

Yesterday I arrived home from Banzaicon in Larvik, Norway!
I have next to no photos to share yet, since my camera mystically disappeared during the main day! However I have great friends who have promised me some of theirs once they're done editing. ♥
Banzaicon was soooo much fun! I went there mainly to perform with my AKBabes, but I ended up having so, so, so much more fun!
I don't think I'll have any cosplay photos to show you any time soon though, since I only wore my Tokaku Azuma that wasn't even finished, and one of my outfits for Miyazawa Sae the 5th, that I've worn before, but you never know?
The last day I didn't wear any cosplay, just a casual outfit. My friend Tomas snapped some photos of it together with my friend Jözz since we kind of matched that day.
Some of my lovely friends and companions for this con. ♥
Banzaicon was a blast, the surroundings were beautiful, the weather was amazing and the people were warm and great fun. ♥
Out performance there, though some technical difficulties was the most enjoyable performance out of the 11 performances me and my AKBabes have done at different conventions!
I can't wait to be able to present some photos that will do the con more justice when I can.
Did you go to Banzaicon? And did you see us there?
Banzaicon also convinced me that getting a cosplay page on facebook was a good idea to keep in touch with all the people I meet on different events, so if you feel like it, please check it out and give me a like! ♥
Thank you for this time, and until next time, Banzaicon! ♥

As most of my friends know, one of my favorite sweets in the whole world is Jelly Beans! Imagine my delight when I saw the Jelly Belly sodas at the Banzai Café?! I'm not even that fond of sodas since I don't like carbonated beverages, but this was a different story! The French Vanilla one tasted like vanilla ice cream, I'm not even kidding.

I picked up a package full of circle lenses from Honeycolor this week! Only two pairs for myself though. Honeycolor is a great site to order from if you're a bunch of friends who need lenses for a con or just for fun, since if you order for more than 100$ you get free express shipping, something me and my group sorely needed since these lenses are for Banzaicon next weekend! I ordered them a little over a week ago, but since Easter left the post office closed for about five days I think it only took about five-six days for the parcel to reach me!
This time I ordered a new pair of blue lenses and one pair of lilac lenses. I already had both these colors in Super Pinky, my favorite brand and design on circle lenses, but lately my left eye has been bugging me and won't have me wearing them at all. It makes me so sad since I really love them and since they always were so comfortable before. I highly recommend them, the design and colors are really just flawless, at least if you are like me and like lenses with vivid color, without a sharp black rim that blend nicely with your own eyes. Super Pinky can even make red and purple eyes look natural and dreamy.Oh Super Pinky.
Anyway!
This time I got a pair of EOS Ice in Blue, and a pair of EOS Fairy in violet!
Now I'm off to prepare the last bits of my costumes and luggage for Banzaicon in Larvik, Norway this weekend, together with my AKBabes, I'm so very excited that we'll get to perform there!Anyway!
This time I got a pair of EOS Ice in Blue, and a pair of EOS Fairy in violet!
I really like the EOS Ice series, since they're quite big and enlarging, comfortable, (I can easily wear them for a whole, long con day without any discomfort) and the pattern is really pretty.
What I do not like as much is how very much of your own eye color that still shows when you're wearing them. Since I have a mixture of many colors in my eyes blue, gray and green lenses from the Ice series still work on me, but I'd never get them in purple or brown, I don't think that'd look as good. I'd recommend the EOS Ice lenses in colors that are close to your own eye color, or if you want the effect of a differently colored ring around your own eye color.
I'm planning to use these lenses for everyday wear, as well as my cosplays on Sailor Uranus, Anarchy Panty and Azuma Tokaku.

As for EOS Fairy, they're not so big, so cosplay wise they're quite good for male or more grown up-looking characters. I'm not sure I'm going to wear them out of cosplay, since they don't blend as well as I'd like them to, but they are comfortable and quite vivid, so I'm still quite happy with them.
My issue with other violet contacts are that they easily look gray and washed out from afar, but EOS Fairy does the job of looking purple even from afar pretty well. I'm planning to wear these to my Sailor Star Maker cosplay this summer!
EOS Fairy was also the first circle lens I ever tried out, I had the green ones for my Oerba Dia Vanille cosplay back in 2011, and I think they were quite good to start out with since they are comfortable, not so big, and don't crave all that much makeup to look good.

I hope you all have a great Easter with your loved ones, and loads of eggs and candy! ♥
I'll be spending whatever's left of today working on my cosplays for BANZAIcon, a convention in Norway that I'm going to visit with my AKBabes, and watching Rise of the Guardians, my one of my favorite movies that just so happens to be set during Easter!

My friend Joss were in town this weekend, so we took the opportunity to spend some quality time together! ♥
We spent the night watching Kill la Kill and doing makeup tests from said anime - since Joss have wanted me to cosplay Satsuki for a looooong time. I wasn't quite sure about the eyebrows at first, but I must say that a character that will allow me to boss everyone around, look high and mighty and have a pretty uniform with a sword to go with wouldn't be all that bad. Satsuki really is the kind of strong, female, tough character that I like so much, so it's much likely that it's a cosplay that will happen!

I think I'll chill a little on the eye shadow next time, but what do you think? The wig is just a temporary one that I borrowed from Ryuko-chan, I will probably go with a dark, dark gray for Satsuki when I buy my wig!
I also went to the opening of my mother's interor store + café today and snapped TONS of photos of all the cute stuff she has for sale that I'll post tomorrow!
Until then! ♥
