Let it go - the Elsa chronicles part 1

Long time no cosplay! (or really..?)
The things I need to make my Elsa cosplay are slowly being delivered to me, and I've already started out on what I think will be the most time-consuming part of this costume: Elsa's beautiful mosaic ice top part of her dress. Wow that's a long title.

The ice that Elsa creates has this beautiful, magical holographic sheen to it, and after looking trough the endless tutorials and work in progress blogposts that all the gorgeous Elsa cosplayers before me have blessed the interwebz with, I found some really pretty sequin sheets and scrapbooking shimmer sheetz that reflect that just perfectly.
Viewed straight on they are just pale blue and dark turquoise (I have another lighter turquoise shade in between them, I just haven't cut any yet hehe ..), but as soon as you move them they shimmer in pink, light purple, green and gold.
I cut them all by hand, with a regular scissor, since I want them in different shapes and sizes. It actually works very well, but I try to work a little every day so I won't wear my hands out too much (it's happened before, and not being able to craft without being in pain was agony enough by itself..!)
I can't wait for the rest of my materials to get here so that I can start making everything!
Until next time! ♥

My friend Sanna needed some models for a video project of hers, so I was instructed to come in all white to the Botanical Park(garden..?) in Gothenburg.
However, that morning I woke up to a swollen cheek and eye for reasons unknown. But if cosplay has taught me anything, then it is that there are very few things that won't work with the right makeup.
So with some shading, highlighting and glasses on I looked almost normal and up for the job!

I got new glasses quite recently, I'm going to dedicate a post of their own later on, because they are well needed and very much wanted.
I stitched my AKB48 patch onto my jeans jacket the other day too. I love it so much, isn't it just too cute, or is it just me being a nerd..?
Until next time! ♥

Moonstone and Mango

My cold is slowly being pushed back by copious amounts of tea, honey, ginger, fruits, berries and sleep. I could finally go back to work last Thursday, and I hope that my immune system is building up a stronger defense for Autumn - since I currently work as a daycare substitute teacher there are quite some hugging, chasing and blowing of noses to be done, and while the kids might not actually be sick my poor defence must've fallen for some remaining whifs of a cold left on some tiny hands somewhere.
Today was my day off, but my mother needed to be elsewhere this afternoon, so I went out to take care of the store for a couple of hours before closing up.
Autumn weather requires for my sweater and scarves to come our of hiding, and I couldn't be more pleased. I love layering and cozy knits. ♥
I did a half braided thing with my hair, and I rahter liked it! My mother snarkily asked me if I hadn't had time to do my whole hair, but I love doing assymetrial hairstyles, especially since my haircut is rather plain these days.
Autumn is not only in the air, it's showing in the colors and goods in the store as well.
After closing up the store I sat down for some apple/blackberry pie and my favorite green tea, Mango Tango from Thérapie. It's full of flavor, smells heavenly, overflowing with little candied chunks of mango - and it's organic. All good things. ♥

I also asked my mother to get this ring in my size. It's silver with a large moonstone and at first sight it looks like a plain, but still rather pretty, foggy crystal. But when you move it in the light it shimmers in blue, pink and purple. It looks just magical. ♥
Until next time! ♥
Egg and Milk

I caught a terrible cold, and I had to call in sick - for my first day at work, which doesn't feel all that good at all.
Something that was pretty good is last Saturday, that I spent with my best friend and proclaimed brother Jokk.
He's leaving for Japan in two more days, and since I have work and now also a raging cold I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to see him before that, so I made sure to get at least one whole day's worth or quality time.
We started our day at Egg and Milk, a small American diner inspired place that has won a special place in the food section of our hearts with their breakfasts and brunch menu.
Now I'm going to go and try fight my cold off with some pineapple and blueberry smoothie.
Until next time. ♥

I also made the delicious aquaintance with Snapple's ice tea for the first time, so tasty! ♥
It was such a lovely day. I got to sleep in, we got delicious food, the weather was great and I had a really good time just hanging out and also watching the crappiest movie (Cowboys and Aliens) that I've seen in a veeeery long time before saying goodbye.
I really don't know how I'm going to survive without him, he's been my knight in colorful chinos, big brother, as well as one of my best friends and most trusted advisors for quite some time, it's so surreal that now he's leaving for a whole year.
So should this blog come to a sudden stop, it probably means that I've died without his guidance.
I still wish him all the best, and I can't wait to go visit him in as near a future as possible. ♥

Jözz left town two days ago, but at least I have some photos from our Sunday together ♥
The weather was so lovely, so I decided it was time to squeeze out the last of summer and wear my wonderful flower crown that Kami Renee made for me, and an all denim look!
I also wore some of my favorite accessories from Vivienne Westwood. I love my winged, pink orb earrings, they remind me so much this super cute manga I used to read when I lived in Japan for a while, Gokinjo Monogatari!

Jözz looked positively adorable as always. ♥ As soon as I look at her I get this crazy urge to cut my hair short again, she just wears it so well!
We met up with Mako for some fika, of course I got the salted caramel latte and their scrumptious mango cheesecake!
I already miss having my special twin here, can't wait until next time! Thank you for brightening my weekend ♥

My friend Jözz is here, visiting from the capital!
We have a lovely weekend, full of ice tea and mischief ahead of us.
One of our guilty pleasures being twinning, matching our outfits like the dorks we are we took the opportunity to do some stereotypical french girl coords.
I'm wearing shoes from Vagabond, satchel from Cambridge Satchel Company, a skirt from HM, top from Lindex and a thrifted white belt. ♥

We are both wearing pearl necklaces made by our friend Emelie. ♥
Jözz is wearing a skirt from HM, her top is from titty&Co. (who the hell names their brand titty-anything..?) and platform shoes from taobao. ♥
Until next time! ♥
