Salted Caramel Latte

A friend of mine is here from Malmö, so yesterday we went out for some coffee and later on drinks.
My new favorite thing is the salted caramel flavored latte that they have at Wayne's Coffee.
I'm a sucker for anything salted caramel, and I'm so happy that we finally have a larger Wayne's in my city, I love their food and coffee - not to mention the ridiculous, bucket sized mugs you get there - and when you order flavored coffee they actually put enough syrup in it so that it tastes caramel, chocolate, hazelnut or whatever you ordered, unlike far too many other places where you can only vaguely notice the flavor.
Until next time. ♥

It was super windy(as usual), which messed my hair right up. I splurged on some new heat protection spray from Aussie and some argan hair oil though, so I hope that I can learn to tame my hair a little more now. It's longer than it's been in many many years and since I've worn a pony tail almost all the time trough summer the lenght surprises me everytime I leave it down. Last time I had this long hair was before I knew my way around styling tongs and rollers, so I'm a little at loss with what to do with it so far. I might chop it off again, but for now I thought I'd try something different.
Until next time. ♥
Overflowing words

Yesterday was cleaning day.
I'm a pretty very messy person, and I tend to let my room become a battlefield before I get sick of it, polish it to perfection and then let it fall back into the same chaos for a week or so.
Yesterday was one of those days when I really felt like curling up under my covers and ignoring the world, but I rolled my sleeves up and got on with cleaning, tidying, organizing and unpacking my bags from my Stockholm trip.
However, the middle drawer of my desk was jammed - and I'm actually surprised it hasn't gotten stuck way back since that's where I keep all of my stationeries, letters and postcards.

Since I was a kid I've always loved writing and receiving letters. I've gotten a little bad at it lately, somehow the words doesn't really flow as freely as when I was 14, but I've kept almost all of the letters and postcards that I've gotten over the years, and this is only a franction of my collection.

I have two overflowing boxes and a very thick file filled with words from loved ones all over the world - even though most of them are in Japanese or Swedish.

I think letters are one of the sweetest ways to communicate. While I'm a pretty impatient person who prefers text and phonecalls in most cases, there is nothing like receiving a thick envelope filled with the rambling nonsense or a friend who picked up a pen to chase boredom away, or BIG NEWS that you already heard trough facebook or other social media - but still can appreciate so much more now that it's written in their own sprawling or flowing hand writing. ♥
It seems I might have to pick up my never ending chase of decent stationeries again(I have yet to find any shop that carries a decent supply of stationeries in Sweden..), I have some Japanese friends that I haven't talked to in far, far too long.
Until next time. ♥

Ball at the castle

"Oh, well. What's a royal ball? After all, I suppose it would be frightfully dull, and-and-and boring, and-and completely... Completely wonderful."
When I heard that The Science Fiction Bookstore were going to hold an anniversary ball I just couldn't shut up about it, and I was beyond myself when Mako said she'd go with me.
We decided to throw together costumes from Renai Idenshi XX, since the dresscode was "dark suit", "formal", "cosplay" and "costume".

Due to it being pretty close to Närcon and me having exams and whatnots we didn't have time to entirely finish their formal uniforms, so we went with the outfits without the coat (which in the end I was very happy we did, stressing together a coat just to arrive at the ball and realizing it was far, far to hot to wear anything like it for more than 10 minutes ..!).

It was the dreamiest night with so many beautiful people, I'm so happy that we could attend. ♥

It was so fun to see so many costumes from so many different fandoms, epochs of time and people wearing them in all ages. So different from the anime and cosplay scene that I'm used to. ♥
Not to mention that the food was amazing, and people were so nice and sociable, me and Mako had a great time at the dinner table, discussing the music, cosplay, sci-fi/fantasy back in the days and Japan travelling.

♥ Närcon 2014 ♥

!!!PICTURE HEAVY. RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!
It's been roughly two weeks since my yearly trip to Närcon, a Swedish convention that's held every summer in Linköping.
It's one of my favorite events (only surpassed by Desucon and Confusion), and it has a very cozy, festival kind of feeling since it's very open and many of the activities as well as both stages are outsite!
Närcon 2013 was also the very first convention me and my AKBabes performed at, so this year was a sort of 1st year anniversary for us! We've gotten so far, and in only one year we've been to Finland twice, Norway once, been invited to Denmark and also performed at three events in Sweden. I'm very proud of our hard work and all the friends we've managed to make in such a short time.

This one event was also a little special since we were all group members together for the first time, including our two newest babes and our three members who live in Japan! Here is a photo of us together with a cosplayer from Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, doing Jojo-esque poses because we're actually more derp than we'll ever be pretty.

I really love this costume! I think it's adorable how half of us wear pink with black shoes and white socks and the other half blue with white shoes and black socks, I love our bows that we tie with neckties and the overall mix of sporty and cute.
I also think that this dress is one of the most flattering and well made pieces I've sewn in my 6 years of cosplay!

But I brought another three costumes to Närcon. Yes. Three. A little too stressful for my taste, but you learn as long as you live I suppose, next time I will not be bringing as many costumes - and I'm thinking quite seriously about only making bikini costumes for next year because I cannot function in heat - even less so in cosplay when it's hot. NOPE.
Solo shot by Danarki, thank you! ♥
First day, I wore my improved Kiryuin Satsuki costume! There are still some twerks and improvements I want to make on her, like finishing up my boots, making a new sword and doing my makeup better, but none the less it felt soooo much better than last time I wore her. Apart from the unbearable heat that was..!
I had the most precious group, with Joss as my Ryuko (as it should be), and Nette as the most adorable two-star seifuku Mankanshoku Mako. This girl is THE most perfect Mako, I cannot wait to show you our group photos as soon as I get my hands on them!

Second day, I wore my Sailor Star Maker. WOW. I never want to work in PVC again, even less wear it, let me tell you that much. And it was SO HOT. Kids. Do NOT wear PVC in 31°C, I repeat, do NOT. It may look really breezy but I was boiling, and my feet still haven't quite recovered from the combination of the vacuum in my boots and high heels. Oh boy. We had Mako as the most gorgeous Princess Kakyuu with us, but I have yet to recieve any full group shots that I'm entirely happy with myself on hehe. You can see her costume over at her page!

After changing out of my Sailor Star Maker costume, it was time for the gameshow, yayyy! We teamed up with one member each of the famous Youtube couple behind Eat Your Kimchi and fought for our right not to be punished(..?) in this batsu(punishment)-game! You can see the whole thing here -> (♥)
It's one of the most fun activities I've ever done at a convention, so well planned and exciting! And above anything: my team won. HA!

Third day was the most relaxed day! We had no performances, and we "only" wore our Love Live! School idol project costumes - which also was the only weather appropriate costume I'd brought along. I love my Love Live group, all the girls fit their character perfectly and look so, so cute.

I also finally got the opportunity to meet Kami Renee and Mie Rose! I've been swooning over them both for sooo long, they're so sweet, incredibly talanted and creative. The quality of their costumes, that attention to details I tell you!
This year's Närcon really was a blast! I only wish I could've spent some more time with new and old friends, but oh well, that's just how it is sometimes. I had fun, and made lovely memories none the less. I want to send out some extra love to the adorable Suzuko cosplayer who made us kirara plushies, and to Ell, who made us cute bracelets and to everyone who took our photo/took photo with us and came to see us perform! I can't wait for the next event so that I can see people again. ♥
Until next time! ♥
